Wonderful character development!

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

The dialogue in this movie was excellent, and the story was told exceptionally well. The director/writer is at the top of his game, to be sure. But I cannot agree with the conclusion of the story, and think that this movie is a poor example of one that will positively influence it's youthful audience. What level of respect can either of the two girls in the movie have for this boy, both of whom developed relationships with him that were duplicitous and fictitious? Yet he jumps into each relationship with both feet and no reservations. He has no sense of betrayal, no sense of having been wronged by these two girls, even after they have the gall to implicitly expect him not to be upset by their behaviour. This leads to the story running onto the rocks of unbelievability, which is a big disappointment at the close of the film. Had there been some acknowledgment of the way that their respective relationships had developed badly, had the girls acknowledged their poor behaviour and somehow learned from it, only then would they be worthy of his unremitting attention and friendship. Had he shown that he understood the nature of the development of his relationships with the two girls, but forgave them, that also would have indicated character growth. His character is diminished by being a loyal puppy dog, blind to the nature of the relationships he is in and at the mercy of his adoration. The girls' characters are diminished by their inability to recognize how they have mistreated him, and seek to better themselves. One could argue, perhaps, that the moral of the story is that love is worth pursuing no matter the obstacles that are placed in the way, and that the main character did not let anything prevent his quest from reaching fruition. However, the longevity of a relationship based on deception and that has not developed trust cannot survive without an airing out of the deceit and the rebuilding of trust. There is no closure to this issue within this film. Thus, despite the dialogue, the acting, the story telling, and everything else that makes this an intriguing and entertaining film to watch, an inspiring "coming of age" movie should have characters that learn lessons about life and come out the other side stronger and more mature. In this vein, the film fails to deliver.

So strikingly similar in tone and message to 100 Girls, it leads one to believe that director Michael Davis is a one trick pony. I haven't seen eight days a week, but from the IMDB synopsis, I can see that the male leads in all three movies are romantically tenacious little buggers who have a retarded sexual pervert for a best friend. This movie is set in a world where women are perfect, saintly, beautiful and utterly disgusted by men, who are rapists, perverts, peeping toms, slobs, and ne'er-do-wells. Our protagonist, Sam, thus spends 98 minutes apologizing to 100 women for the entire encyclopedia of male foibles. If any woman in this movie has any faults, it's because some male figure in their past has exacted some sort of brutality or cruelty to make them act that way - you know, just like the guests on daytime talk shows. Formerly fat girls (now hot girls) were fat because boys taunted them into chocolate addiction. Emotionally reluctant girls are that way because they were betrayed and raped by boys they considered friends. No matter which title you use for this movie, 100 Women or Girl Fever, it's quite evident that the title is supposed to be the draw for horndog guys to take a look, only to have their own sexuality distorted and lampooned in the Hollywood equivalent of a fun-house mirror. I cannot conceive of any other purpose for such a movie.Although I can't see how it's possible to spoil this piece of girl-power clap trap, consider yourself warned of the potential spoiler in the next paragraph.I found it quite nauseating when Sam ends up getting the girl of his dreams (which, incidentally, he could not achieve without the assistance of the other 99 women). Sam is apparently powerless to tell her that he is actually in love with someone else - a secret which he is also unable to hide from his omniscient girlfriend. She then sets him free, as if he were a caged bird, to pursue his real true love, whom he has ostensibly betrayed by not being aware of his desires in a timely manner. Though given permission to pursue real love, in typical male fashion, he is unable to convince the new girl of his sincerity without the validation of the other 99 women.Penis jokes abound. Men are cast as vitriol fodder. It seems that in this movie, women can do no wrong, and men can do no right. When a guy plays tricks on one of the girls, she loses her job. Girl-crafted pranks, on the other hand, are physically painful in a testicular kind of way, yet have absolutely no unanticipated consequences. Girls would never be so irresponsible, now would they?If you are a woman, and want to feel good about yourself whilst dissing and mocking men in a contrived sort of way, I urge you to see this movie. If you are a man, and have ever had guilt feelings about looking at a girl's ass as she walked by, do not see this movie - you will no doubt be suicidal before they roll the credits. If I ever see Chad Donella walking down the street, I'm gonna kick him in the ass!

I rented this movie to watch by myself because I figured my wife wouldn't be interested. I figured it would end up being a movie with some crude or sexual humor, and a bunch of attractive women. The attractive women part was right on. But as far as the whole tone of the movie, I was way off. This had some intelligent humor, and some good romantic story lines.I could clearly see why alot of MALES have rated this pretty low, they were probably expecting a spankfest. This would definitely qualify as more of a chick flick, especially geared towards the girls that like the emo boys, the ones that wear their hearts on their sleaves.I was impressed with the story, and the quality of the acting.
Walls Of Jericho
Almost flipped past this one because I thought it WAS 100 Girls at first. This is a cute date movie, nothing more. It has almost the same premise as 100 Girls, with a guy hanging around a women's boarding house, getting to see all the different personalities of females while pining for one in particular. I didn't really buy the ending, and I thought they spent too much time on the setup, then resolved the major conflict in 10 minutes. Plus the "secret" surprise isn't really well hidden, it's even more obvious than who was the mystery chick in "100 Girls". Still, it's a cool flick, I say check it out with a lady friend, she'll probably like it.
