Ole Sandbaek Joergensen Very different from the film with starred a very beautiful Charlize Theron in this tight fitting outfit, in this she is not this super assassin, she is clumsy and always end up in a situation where she is killed more or less. This is a really strange universe, where a lot of people are getting killed, but for a purpose no one has really defined.First season is only on episode, one weird and fast introduction to the universe and the girl, a rather violent and bloody scenery.Second season is a set of 5 small episodes, each 5-6 minutes, here Aeon is clumsy, tot he spy we want her to be, she dies in every small episode and it just becomes more and more abstract and sensual.Third season consist of 10 episode lasting about 22 minutes each, this is somewhat the final form of the series, still more sensual and different then all else, lots of violence, blood, shooting and strange scenarios.

Brian_E_Watters First of all, I love the Aeon Flux movie. Second of all, I love anime and cartoons in general (although this cartoon is clearly American and is not an Anime).The Aeon Flux TV series has all the right elements for an adult cartoon: the characters look good and in general all the artwork looks very good, lots of shocking and bizarre images, and some very interesting stories.However, it just doesn't flow very well, and doesn't really make much sense. I hesitate to compare it to an anime, because it isn't. But anime is a little bit 'prettier', and I've never seen an anime that doesn't make sense. I think of the Aeon Flux TV series as a Disney series... on both steroids and cocaine. If nothing else, it is very creative.

luckygman1970 This cartoon series has no beginning no end and no soul. There are no good guys, no bad guys. There is no rooting for anyone or anything, except for Peter Chung to make more. It is masterfully drawn and its minimalist style speaks volumes. I personally fell in love with A. F. because of the 'shorts', where the *SPOILER* heroine actually dies and the dialogue is non-existent. In the cartoon series there is more dialogue sometimes more than necessary. By the way it is so hard to call this a 'series'. The episodes have nothing to do with each other at all. They are all very different. I think this is exactly what the creator/director had in mind. The episodes are so different that if someone was to tell me that these A. F. episodes are a collection from different series, I would sooner believe that instead of it being a series of its own.

rebeccajo_white Aeon Flux is exactly what Anime is, that is it is a Japanese animated film/TV, Anime is everything from soap operas, through kids programmes, thrillers, horror and porn, I will admit that Chung's artwork style is not typical, but you can also find anime that is done in any style from standard big eyes to realistic, watercolour or flash animation.Aeon flux is a gritty tale of a future world where Chung can explain and explore the notions of humanity without constraints of reality. It is very inspired and unique.No idea about the film, the preview work and trailers incorporate the original animation so maybe they will keep true to the original style, which would be amazing, fingers crossed.Sorry for slight rant, they need a word for the type of anime people like rather than using the name of it, similar with the use of manga, the word for comic books in japan being applied only to violent anime... just makes people get the wrong idea about what it is...R.
